Heartbroken over their children’s albinism, the angelic twins’ parents now find solace in the overwhelming love their princesses receive.
Most parents anticipate healthy, typical babies. However, fate is not always as kind. Ms. Dang Rong and Mr. Dang May (Soc Trang) were devastated when their children were born with albinism, characterized by white hair, pale skin, and poor eyesight.
Recalling the birth of their first son, Mr. May expressed, “I was stunned when the baby was delivered. The condition was gradually explained to me, but not until later. A doctor in the city had encountered someone with this condition and understood it.” Nearly a decade later, the Soc Trang couple feared genetic inheritance and hesitated to have another child. When expecting a second child, relatives and friends encouraged them to take care and undergo testing. It was on the twins’ birthday that they discovered the albinism diagnosis. Mr. May was reserved about Ms. Rong.
“I had all the tests, including NIPT, but I didn’t see any abnormalities. Anxious and hopeful,” the couple reminisced. “I was shocked and worried when I saw them on the surgery table. Even the doctor was taken aback. I blamed myself because my first child had the same condition. I’m concerned about our future together,” expressed the mother of three.
Leaving their eldest child with their grandmother, the couple relocated to Binh Duong to work and provide for their three youngsters. Due to their child’s unique appearance, neighbors ridiculed and criticized the small family. To ensure their children’s happiness and well-being, they support each other in their hard work.
By chance, the twins, Tam I and Tam II, gained popularity on social media due to their enchanting looks. The children are affectionate and warmly greet everyone they meet. Subsequently, the twins’ parents launched a YouTube channel documenting the daily lives of their two angelic daughters with blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair complexions.
